We, not only as the brand Doppelherz but also as the company Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG, have a social responsibility to limit global warming and to reduce human-caused CO2 emissions. Therefore, reducing and offsetting CO2 emissions is just as important to us as avoiding plastic in our product packaging.
Looking to the Future
Products from Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG are made with the aim of minimizing unnecessary waste and climate damage. In the long term, we are setting clear goals for even greater reductions in packaging material and the use of sustainable materials for product packaging. With the savings achieved so far and the long-term reduction in packaging material, we are already making an active contribution to environmental and climate protection. More information can be found here.
During packaging production, carbon dioxide is emitted, the amount of which we aim to further reduce in the future. Unfortunately, it is not possible to completely avoid CO2 emissions in production. We compensate for this environmental impact by supporting sustainable projects together with ClimatePartner.
We continuously work on solutions to offer more environmentally friendly packaging materials for our products.
Ingredients and Sustainability
High-quality of ingredients are the top criterion for our products. Various quality seals and standards confirm the purity and sustainability of the raw and active ingredients.
Ecological Responsibility
We have a significant interest in the conservation of resources. As early as 1997, we were certified according to the environmental standard DIN EN ISO 14001. The aim of the standard is to combine continuous improvement of environmental performance with the compliance with environmental laws. We also became certified according to DIN EN 50001 in 2016, as one of the first companies, in accordance with legal requirements. As such, we introduced an energy management system based on capturing energy flows within our company as well as an assessment of energy efficiency. These evaluations served as the basis for technical measures that helped improve energy efficiency. Thus, we are able to promote a sustainable use of water and energy resources. Currently, certification according to DIN EN 16247-1 is underway – energy efficiency remains an important topic for Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co. KG.
The product manufacturing process is also taken into consideration in accordance with legal requirements. The quality of raw materials as well as the continuous auditing of contract manufacturers are assessed with regard to their environmental relevance.
Queisser Pharma uses electricity from 100% environmentally friendly green energy. This way, we support environmental protection and climate conservation in a sustainable way. We receive our green energy from hydropower, a renewable energy source. The corresponding certificate from our local energy supplier can be found HERE.

Offsetting CO2 Emissions
In collaboration with ClimatePartner, we have determined the CO2 emissions of our business activities. Subsequently, measures to reduce emissions as well as compensation for unavoidable CO2 emissions were initiated. As a pharmaceutical company, we cannot avoid CO2 emissions altogether. However, we take responsibility for the carbon dioxide produced and actively support various projects contributing to climate protection.
Transparency is important to us: Our investments in various climate protection projects can be traced through the climate-neutral logo and our tracking ID on our products.
Our Climate Protection Projects
Climate protection projects can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, they promote sustainable development in project countries, such as improving access to clean drinking water, expanding local infrastructure, creating jobs, or protecting biodiversity.
We support the following climate protection projects worldwide in the area of wind energy.
Wind Energy in Bulgaria
Wind power can generate energy without the use of fossil fuels. In Bulgaria, we support a wind power project that generates renewable energy, contributes to the economic revitalization, and sustainable development of the region. More information at www.climatepartner.com/1100
Wind Energy in Turkey
Climate change requires a departure from the use of fossil fuels. Therefore, a new wind farm with 38 wind turbines and a total capacity of 34.2 MW is being built in the Dualar district of Manisa province - another project that we support. In addition, the climate protection project contributes to the expansion of local energy infrastructure by connecting the wind farm to the national power grid. Wind Energy in Thailand
This project in rural Thailand reduces CO2 emissions by feeding clean energy from wind power into the national grid. In Nakhon Ratchasima province in northeastern Thailand, we support the increase of renewable energy and the improvement of energy security in the country.
